This one hour web-based course is designed to introduce system administrators, awareness of the skills, and topics that they need to know about WebSphere Commerce Server Caching and Search Caching configurations available in IBM WebSphere Commerce V7 FEP8.

The skills that are developed in this course enable WebSphere Commerce Administrators to learn about the Caching concepts and processing and help in troubleshooting caching issues. The course begins with an Introduction to caching. It introduces the students to the caching terminology, what is caching and invalidation, what to cache and what does WebSphere Commerce cache. Subsequent units cover caching strategy, distributed caching, administering caching that covers understand and list the caching options and types of caching.

There is a unit for the performance evaluation that details how to improve marketing performance, store function caching, invalidation strategies and a lesson specific to caching for search that details about the search caching configurations and data cache.

Prerequisites

Before taking this course, students should:

Ideally have experience with WebSphere Commerce, or previous courses, and should have the following skills

  • Basic WebSphere Application Server administration
  • Extensible Markup Language (XML)
  • Basic knowledge on Caching
  • Basic knowledge of WebSphere Commerce Search
